According to Ice Universe, Samsung has finished the development of its next-generation Galaxy S smartphones and is getting ready for mass production. The report claims that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will launch sooner and could hit store shelves in February or early March.

Because of that, the smartphones will enter mass production sometime next month. The Korea Herald also reports that because of launching the handsets earlier, Samsung had to sacrifice crucial research time and therefore the new smartphone won't have an in-display fingerprint reader.

The good news is that the company has made a number of changes to the rear of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, including better position of a fingerprint scanner and new dual-camera setup.
