Lenovo is purchasing a 51% controlling stake in Fujitsu's PC business, which was spun out from the company two years ago due to it not being profitable. It'll spend $157 million in cash to acquire the stake and Lenovo will spend another $22-112 million based on performance by 2020.

It's likely treating this as a way to help its own PC business, which was overtaken by HP earlier in 2017. Lenovo just reported its best quarterly revenue increase in two years, but it could use help in the PC market.
