Apple has been presented with both good and bad news when it comes to the iPhone X. On the good side, production yields are now improving and it appears the company will get 10 million units per month. On the bad side, the production difficulties that have existed over the past couple months are still going to leave Apple with far less units than it wanted.

The company is going to ship just 20 million units by the end of 2017, says Nikkei. That's because yields only began improving towards the end of September, too late to catch up.

Apple and third-party analysts anticipated around twice as many units shipping this year.
