Fujitsu is working to get out of the smartphone business and is currently preparing to sell off that division. Among those potentially interested in acquiring the division, which was spun off as a separate company last year, are Lenovo, Polaris Capital Group (Japan), and CVC Capital Partners (UK).

Bidding for the mobile phone business could begin around September and Fujitsu is expected to end up selling the company for hundreds of millions of dollars.

Once the sale takes place, Fujitsu will largely exit the phone industry, though it's trying to keep a minority stake in order to preserve its mobile phone brand.
