Following the massive recall of Galaxy Note 7, Samsung has decided to ditch batteries from its long-time battery supplier ATL. Not only it won't use them in the upcoming Galaxy Note 8, but the company is also rumoured to use batteries produced by Samsung SDI and Japan's Murata Manufacturing in next-gen Galaxy S flagship smartphones.

The report also claims that Samsung SDI will be responsible for 80 percent of the battery production, while Murata will make the remaining 20 percent for the Galaxy Note 8.

The main reason for this is because of Samsung's enhanced quality control and surveillance on suppliers. On the other hand, this won't affect the world's number one battery supplier much as it still has Apple wrapped around.
