All of Apple's A-series chips for its smartphones could be coming from Taiwan's TSMC in 2018. Though a recent report suggested Samsung could end up being a supplier next year, DigiTimes reports industry experts believe TSMC is "still likely" to be the sole provider.

Samsung didn't provide any A-series smartphone chips last year and it's not a supplier this year. Though the company is trying to improve its manufacturing capabilities to become a secondary source, it's not widely believed the company will be successful within a year.

TSMC's manufacturing process is considered superior to Samsung's, making it an ideal sole supplier.
