As it prepares to launch its flagship Nokia 8 smartphone, HMD Global has lost its CEO. Arto Nummela is no longer leading the company and he's been replaced by president Florian Seiche. Nummela is departing as a result of a "mutual agreement" between himself and HMD.

No explanation for his departure was given. HMD is in the middle of launching its Nokia lineup, which will soon include the Nokia 8, so it's an interesting time for a significant leadership change.

An agreement for HMD to produce phones under that brand name was reached with Nokia last year. It began coming out with phones this year.
