Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new handset in India. The company sent out press invites for an event that will take place on July 18. The invite clearly hints at the launch of Mi Max 2, saying "Last year, we made ripples with this new category and now it is back. Join us in witnessing the return on 'BIG' at Xiaomi media briefing."

The Mi Max 2 was unveiled in China back in May and has only reached a few other countries, such as Malaysia. Hopefully this means that the company is finally expanding the availability of the handset. The phone is said to be priced at INR 15,999, which is around $250 or €220.
