All of the remaining Galaxy Note 7 units in the United States might be disabled as early as next week. Reports claim an update is on the way that'll prevent phones from charging, thereby making them useless. A warning was reportedly sent to a US Cellular customer about the impending update.

If the warning is accurate, users will only be able to charge their phones until December 15.

Samsung has been limiting Note 7 units to a 60% charge in the US since last month in order to reduce the chance of fires.

Customers can still receive a full refund or exchange if they turn in their phone.
