Asustek Computer has announced consolidated revenues of NT$38.3 billion (US$1.22 billion) for October, down 14.2% on month and 7.5% on year. Combined consolidated revenues for the first 10 months in 2016 were down 0.6% on year to reach NT$378.71 billion.
Asustek originally expects its smartphone shipments to enjoy strong growth in the fourth quarter. However, Asustek's smartphone sales were not as strong as expected in October and impacted its income in the month.
For November and December, Asustek is taking a conservative strategy aimed at achieving stable performances.
Asustek is expected to ship around 19 million notebooks in 2016, about the same level as in 2015, but its notebook ASPs will rise. The company's smartphone shipments are unlikely to reach 25 million units in 2016 as originally expected, but its shipments to the mid-range and high-end segments have been rising.
Asustek's motherboard shipments are expected to reach 17-17.5 million units for 2016, while graphics card shipments will also stay flat on year to reach five million units. |
