Samsung Electronics Taiwan is offering a refund or an exchange for other Samsung smartphones for the Galaxy Note 7. Channel retailers report that 90% of customers returning the Note 7 chose to get a Samsung S7 Edge instead of a refund, and the trend has quickly depleted their inventory, leaving them waiting for new S7 Edge shipments, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report citing sources from channel retailers.
Samsung Taiwan announced on October 11 that all Galaxy Note 7 users may go to any channel retailer or telecom carrier in Taiwan a for refund or exchange. Users may choose to exchange to a S7 Edge or Note 5 along with a NT$3,000 (US$95) gift certificate.
In addition to the gift certificate, each user will also receive a refund in any price-gap, typically NT$4,000-5,000 for the S7 Edge and NT$5,000-7,000 for the Note 5, the paper added. |
