Everyone is now taking their time to properly test new handset after seeing all the problems Samsung has with Galaxy Note 7. Huawei has scheduled a press conference for October 19, where it should unveil the next-generation flagship chipset Kirin 960 that will be inside the Mate 9.
The chipset is manufactured using the 16nm process, and includes LTE Cat. 12 integration and an octa-core Cortex-A73 CPU. As for the phablet, besides the Kirin 960 SoC, it is rumoured to sport either a 5.7-or 5.9-inch display, up to 6 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage, dual rear cameras with 20 MP and 12 MP cameras, while the front unit has an 8 MP sensor.
The most affordable Mate 9 unit is expected to cost around $480, while the most expensive one will cost $700. |
