Memory module maker Kingston Technology has moved to quash recent rumors that suggested the company is looking to acquire its outsourcing partners Panram International and Orient Semiconductor Electronics (OSE).
Kingston said it will continue to work closely with contract partners, but has no plans for any merger.
Panram manufactures DRAM modules for Kingston, whereas OSE has extended its contract services for the US customer to cover flash cards and drives. Kingston was quoted in previous reports it intends to increase its outsourcing to Panram and OSE rather than expanding its in-house assembling capacity.
Kingston expects to see revenues generated from Asia hit the US$1 billion milestone in 2009, company VP, APAC, Scott Chen said in a recent report.
